Voters in Skagway, Klukwan and Haines will weigh-in on races for state office on Tuesday.

There are four candidates in the Democratic primary for House District 33. The seat is currently held by Sam Kito III.

That includes two Haines residents. Tom Morphet and James Hart will both be on the ballot, though Hart is now asking residents not to vote for him.

Sara Hannan and Steve Handy of Juneau are also in the running.

Chris Dimond of Douglas is running for the seat as an independent, so he won’t be on the primary ballot.

Voters will also cast ballots in the Democratic primary for Senate District Q. That seat is currently held by Dennis Egan. Jesse Kiehl is running uncontested in the primary. Don Ethridge is running as an independent.

Residents will also weigh-in on the Republican and Democratic primaries in the governor’s race.

Finally, voters will have their say in the Republican and Democratic primaries for U.S. Representative.

The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow. In Skagway residents vote at City Hall Assembly Chambers. There are two polling places in the Chilkat Valley. Voters in Precinct 1 cast ballots at the ANB/ANS Hall. For precinct two, the polling place is the Klehini Valley Fire Department on Mosquito Lake Rd.
