White Pass and Yukon Route Railroad is back in service.

The company stopped running trains May 30, after a rock struck a bridge about 7 miles up the railroad track.

Service resumed after the bridge was assessed by engineers and repairs were made.

Tourism season is in full swing in Southeast Alaska. In the five days the White Pass trains weren’t running, around 28,000 cruise ship visitors came to Skagway.

At maximum, White Pass runs around 12 trains per day, with about 500 passengers per train.
