Skagway officials have released the numbers of ballots counted on Tuesday, October 5. 375 total ballots were cast on Tuesday, and with an additional 169 potential votes left to be counted, that shows that about 44% of the town’s registered voters participated in this year’s election.
The remaining absentee ballots will be counted by the election board and official election results will be certified by the borough assembly on Thursday night. Newly elected officials will take office on Monday, October 11, 2021.
