There are no big surprises or changes in Skagway Borough Manager Scott Hahn’s budget for FY19.

Though, Hahn does anticipate about a 10 percent increase in general revenue. That’s based on projections for cruise traffic.

Skagway will see three new cruise ships this season. One boat, the Norwegian Bliss, holds 4,000 passengers.

Just under 900,000 cruise ship visitors are expected in Skagway this summer – that’s around 8,000 more than last year.

Hahn says more revenue is expected from utility fee increases as well.

The assembly recently approved rate hikes for water and sewer.

General expenditures, on the other hand, have stayed about the same, says Hahn.

The budget is set for introduction and first reading at Thursday’s assembly meeting.
