Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in Southeast, Skagway’s Assembly will consider a resolution that mandates the use of cloth face coverings in municipal buildings, including the school.

The resolution is scheduled for an introduction and first reading at the August 6th assembly meeting to be held at Assembly Chambers.

Juneau has a local mask mandate; in Haines masks are required in all borough facilities. Elected officials in Sitka and Ketchikan voted down face covering ordinances. Petersburg’s temporary mask ordinance has expired. The resolution is available on Skagway’s municipal website and at here.
