Early results from the Skagway election are in. But with up to 164 early and mailed ballots yet to be counted, the results could change.
For the two open seats on the borough assembly, Reba Hylton and Sam Bass have the lead with 230 and 175 votes respectively. Incumbent Dan Henry and Beth Smith are nearly tied with 145 votes for Henry and 144 votes for Smith.
Denise Sager and Jason Verhage are on track claim the two open seats on the Skagway school board with 302 and 280 votes respectively. Kilipaki Harris received 72 votes.
This is not the final count. Votes will be made official and certified at the Thursday, October 8th meeting of the Canvass Board at 4 pm.
