Alaska Power and Telephone is seeking to put a large rate increase on its customers in the upper Lynn Canal. The public comment period closed last week and many residents expressed dissatisfaction with the proposal. And, the Skagway Traditional Council is offering free internet service to senior residents. The council received a large federal grant to provide service to tribal members, and is extending the opportunity to applicants over 60 years old.
