The Skagway Fire Department responded to a small laundry fire at Garden City RV Park at roughly 4:30 p.m. The fire was extinguished quickly. A small pile of burnt material sat outside the building, emitting an unpleasant odor.
One fire truck responded along with the Skagway Police Department. The fire department was unavailable for comment as they retrieved their equipment.
Garden City RV will have the last remaining publicly available laundry machines in Skagway after the Family Fuel laundromat closes Sept. 30.
