KHNS Staff and Volunteers have New Years Day off! Happy 2024, thanks for all your support of KHNS this past year, we’re looking forward to bringing you another year of great community radio, in our home here in the upper lynn canal. We’ll be back Tuesday with our regular schedule, but stay tuned through the day for special new years programming.

 

8-10 – New Year’s Day from Vienna 2024 – The Vienna Philharmonic presents its ever popular New Year’s Day concert from the Golden Hall of Vienna’s Musikverein with Cleveland Orchestra’s Music Director Franz Welser-Möst conducting. This year there is an appearance by the Vienna Boys Choir and, first time the Vienna Girls Choir. It’s a great way to start the New Year. Hosted by WBUR’s Lisa Mullins.

10-12 – Paul Ingles Musician Memorial 2023 – For the 7th year straight, music specials producer Paul Ingles offers the thoughtful, heart-felt, year-end compendium program that allows us all to honor many of the music greats lost to us in the last 12 months, including Tina Turner, Harry Belafonte, Tony Bennett, Sinead O’Connor, Jimmy Buffett, Ahmad Jamal, David Crosby and many more.

1pm-3pm – Celebrate the new year with Bill Annis for the first Backcountry of 2024!

5:45 – National Native News – 5 Minute headlines from Native Voice One, hosted by Antonia Gonzales
