KHNS staff has the day off this Christmas, but that means we’ll have special holiday programming throughout the day!
We’ll have Morning Edition as usual until 8am
8-11am – Tom Morphet is hosting a three hour Holiday Soundwaves Special! Featuring Christmas music performed and recorded right here in the Upper Lynn Canal
11am-Noon – World Cafe brings the holiday cheer as well with their annual Christmas themed program
Noon-1pm – The World has a end of year wrap up with fun stories from throughout the year to bring some more light to the slowly brightening days
1-2pm – Paul Ingles does annual memorial shows for those artists we have lost, this edition is focused on singer/songwriters, covering country, roots, R&B and other Acoustic artists
2-3pm – Bluegrass Connection Christmas Special: it is what it says it is, an hour of Christmas bluegrass!
3-4pm – Sound Opinions is a fun music review show, and the holiday special features great hidden gems of Christmas tunes
4-5pm – Rhythm Atlas Christmas – World Music show Rhythm Atlas brings Christmas from around the globe to your ears
5-6pm – All Things Considered – The news doesn’t stop, even for Christmas
6-7pm – CBC Podcast Playlist: Cozy Holiday Stories – Grab some egg nog and the warmest blanket you can find! We’re sharing warm and fuzzy stories for the end of the year.
7-8pm – The Kitchen Sisters – The Keepers is a Kitchen Sisters special featuring Frances McDormand; Stories of can-do people. Must-do people. Get-it-done people. People who are grappling with the now, with where we are and where we’ve got to get to.
8-10pm – Strange Currency – The evening becomes eclectic, with more holiday music from Sister Rosetta Tharpe, The Band, and Danny Elfman
