The four Haines and Klukwan teams competing at the Gold Medal Basketball Tournament in Juneau have high-stakes games today. For each team, a win means advancing to the championship game and a loss means they’re out.

After defeating Hoonah on Tuesday, the Haines women lost against Craig on Thursday with a final score of 59-45. They will play Hoonah again today at 2 p.m. If they win, they’ll play Craig in the championship game.

The Haines team in the men’s B bracket fell to Angoon on Thursday 95-86. They’ll face Hydaburg tonight at 7:30. A win would send Haines to the championship game against Angoon.

After one win and one loss earlier this week, the Klukwan C team bested Angoon Wednesday night 102-87. They play Hydaburg today at 3:30 p.m. If they win, Metlakatla will be their opponent in the final game Saturday.

The Klukwan Masters team takes on Kake tonight at 6 p.m. A win will send them to the championship against Hoonah.

The Klukwan B team lost to Hydaburg 81-74 Wednesday night. That’s the team’s second loss, meaning their run at Gold Medal is over this year.

(The men’s brackets are divided by age. B bracket includes those 18-32, C bracket 32 and up, and Masters 42 and up.)
