Preliminary results are in from Haines. The total from both precincts and the majority of the absentee ballots are counted. There are still absentee and question ballots to be tallied, however. Preliminary results are in from Skagway. On the 35-year tidelands lease vote, 136 voted to approve the lease while 278 voted against it. Mark Schaefer collected 258 votes while Roger Griffin got 140. Jay Burnham has received 186 votes while Steve Burnham, Jr. has 246. David Brena has received 148 votes while Mavis Irene Henricksen has 64. There are still absentee and question ballots to count. These are unofficial results.
