The final results are in for the Haines and Skagway Municipal elections.

Will Prisciandaro and Sean Maidy were elected in the four-way race for two Haines Borough Assembly seats. Prisciandaro received the most votes with 468 and Maidy had the second-most votes with 414. Paul Rogers was only 2 votes behind with 412 votes, and Barbara Mulford received 387 votes.

The initiative to elect rather than appoint members of municipal boards, commissions and committees in Haines failed, and the proposition to create police service areas outside the Haines townsite failed in all of the areas it would have affected.

In the three-way race for Skagway Borough Assembly, Steve Burnham Jr. and Jay Burnham were re-elected to their seats. Steve Burnham Jr. received 293 votes followed by Jay Burnham with 249 votes and Roger Griffin with 193 votes.

In an advisory vote, Skagway residents indicated that they did not support funding a recreation center expansion, an aquatics center or a 1 percent sales tax to finance such projects.
