The candidate filing period for this falls’ municipal election in Skagway closed on Monday.
Mayor Andrew Cremata is not running for reelection, and three candidates are vying for the position. They are William Lockette [low-keht], and assembly members Sam Bass, and Orion Hanson.
Two borough assembly seats are open. Assembly member Alex Wedell [wuh- dell] was appointed to her seat this year, and is running for a three year term. Resident Kate Kolodi [ko -LOW-dee] is running as well.
Three school board seats are open, and no one has signed up to fill them.
