Skagway School District‘s Panthers and the Haines Glacier Bears have ended their runs in this week’s ASAA March Madness Alaska State Basketball Championship in Anchorage, bringing a great high school basketball season in the upper Lynn Canal to a close. The Scammon Bay Eagles claimed today’s (3/16) 1A Consolation Final/ 7th place position with their 37-26 win over the Skagway Panthers. Yesterday (3/15), the Glennallen Panthers advanced to the 2A 4th/6th place final with their 32-23 win over the Glacier Bears.
Having 2 local teams reach the 2024 State Championship is a great achievement! Congratulations to the players and coaches for a successful season and best of luck to the graduating seniors!
