At the Alaska Press Club conference in late April, KHNS took home two awards: Second Place for Best Daily News Program, (right behind statewide APRN) called by the judges, ” An informative and lively newscast that gives a comprehensive look at local issues”; and third place for Best Breaking News Story based on the sinking of the tender, Neptune. Again, from the judges, “This was a comprehensive piece with a number of interesting voices from the scene. It summed up the situation well.”
