Rasmuson grant brings Chilkat Valley Preschool close to new home

In Haines, it takes a village to raise a preschool. Over the past few years, the private non-profit Chilkat Valley Preschool has struggled to find a new home. Things started to come together only after the preschool joined forces with the senior center and borough. This week, The Rasmuson Foundation announced it would give the borough a $150,000 grant for the preschool project. Skagway waste disposal options could expand with new project

Skagway’s limited waste disposal options could be expanded with a developing project. At a public meeting next week, residents will have a chance to take part in a discussion about the design for a 15-acre solid waste, recycling, public works and RV park facility.
