What's New at KHNS

Check out the list below for the latest information about KHNS.

New Skagway Control Board

A new Audio Arts control board was recently installed in the Skagway KHNS studio. KHNS Engineer John DeRosa and Program Director Steven Scarrott spent a productive weekend hooking the new board up, which was officially broken in by deejay Nate Martens on the Tuesday, April 7th edition of Flashbacks and Fresh Tracks. In conjunction with the new transmitter installed in 2008, the board has greatly improved the sound quality of shows broadcast from Skagway. KHNS would like to thank the Red Onion Saloon for housing and feeding staff, and the Skagway Rec Center for hosting the studio and helping out during the installation. Special thanks go to board member Deb Potter for her tireless efforts in support of community radio, and to all of our Skagway deejays!

New CD Shelves

The KHNS studios in Haines received three new CD shelves through the generous efforts of Chuck Hoehn, Emily Seward and Ian Seward. The much-needed space afforded by the shelves has enabled staff to begin expanding and re-categorizing the music library. If you'd like to help with this project, call 766-2020 or stop by the station. Volunteers are always welcome!

KHNS is listener supported, community-based public radio serving Alaska's northern panhandle communities.
