After three years of bringing us daily news stories about everything from elections to rock slides to loose turkeys, KHNS News Director Emily Files is leaving the station. After spending the holidays with her family in Chicago, she will be heading to Italy to relax and sample all that Europe has to offer. We will miss her dearly and wish her the best in her adventures!

With the departure of Emily comes the arrival of our new reporter: Berett Wilber! Berett was born and raised in a fishing family in Sitka, Alaska. After years sporadically hosting pop music shows at KCAW, she jumped into news reporting at KUCB in Unalaska this summer. She reported on eagles, police, and more eagles, as well as contributing photojournalism. She’s excited to join us here at KHNS, and we’re glad to have her! Welcome, Berett!

She will be joining Abbey Collins, senior reporter and editor, in the news room to bring you quality, daily reporting on issues and events in Haines, Skagway, and Klukwan.
