Haines residents have another chance to weigh in on updated proposals for the Portage Cove Harbor Boat Launch project this week. “This is the third community meeting,” says Haines Public Facilities Director Brad Ryan. “The first two meetings they came in, presented ideas, took feedback. Haines working group introduces a new proposal for solid waste disposal

For the last year, a group of Haines residents has been trying to figure out how to improve local garbage disposal. At a meeting Monday, the Solid Waste Working Group presented its ideas to the assembly. https://khns.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/31WastewINTRO.mp3 “The goal was to create a tax-based system that’s managed by the borough,” said Melissa Aronson.
