In Ketchikan, people can come up to the landfill and take what they want. Recently elected Skagway leaders propose ending waterfront negotiations

Two newly seated Skagway officials called the recent election a “mandate” to change course on waterfront lease talks. The new mayor proposed tabling negotiations with the town’s major tidelands leaseholder. Haines School Board seeks new member

The Haines Borough School Board is looking for a new member. Only three candidates ran for four open seats in this year’s election. Now the board is poised to appoint someone for the remaining position. The appointed member will serve until the 2018 election.
